Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) is pleased to announce that the royalty dispute with HKRIA has been resolved through mediation. The agreement signed regarding the use of HKRIA repertoire covers up to year 2014.

As explained on previous occasions, royalty matter and artiste deployment are two distinct issues. Settlement of the former bears no relation to the latter. There is no change to the current casting policy of TVB. Those with contracts with TVB will be considered first. For those without any contracts with TVB, as in the present arrangement, they may also be cast in our programmes on individual case basis. This will however depend on their suitability, availability as well as whether any other suitable candidates can be identified in our contract artiste pool.

For TVB's flagship quarterly and annual musical chart show awards, the existing policy remains unchanged. Only those with contracts with TVB will be eligible for nomination to compete for the awards.
